COLOMBIAN POTTERY

Our Colombian Pottery comes from a small town high up in the Andes Mountains in Colombia where families have been producing hand made pottery for generations. The base clay is mined from underground mines only twice a year when weather allows; the base clay is filtered, sorted and mixed with water to produce the clay in big square blocks ready to be used to form the unique handcrafted pots, vases and figurines. The pottery then is cooked in a kiln at 960° C. and stay in the kiln for 8 days for the cooking and cooling process. It is this long process that makes Colombian pottery very weather resistant.
